Experience

2025–Present

Remote Piloting Test Engineer

Reliable Robotics

Designs, builds, tests, and maintains flight simulators and remote piloting stations for autonomous aircraft. Supports flight operations from the control center and conducts technology demonstrations for investors, the FAA, NASA, and military stakeholders.

2023–2025

Robotics Software Engineer III

Hyster-Yale

Implemented an automation-first test strategy for robotic forklifts using Python, C, and C++. Tested robotic systems using CAN tooling and integrated SICK safety systems, lidar sensors, and 3D cameras.

2021–2023

Principal Robotics R&D Test Engineer

Verizon Robotics

Developed test plans for ground and aerial robotic systems and executed field operations across varied environments. Authored the ground-robotics safety plan for the company's primary testing facility.

2016–2021

Director of QA & Flight Operations Lead

Skyward (Verizon)

Led quality across web and mobile platforms, growing the QA team from one to 12 engineers. Led safe, compliant flight operations for a 12-pilot team.

2014–2015

Lead QA Engineer

Blockchain.com

Built and mentored a QA team while prioritizing testing across ten web, iOS, and Android applications. Established automated testing for an AngularJS/Node.js application using Protractor and Robotium.

2013–2014

QA Engineer

Columbia Sportswear

Tested web releases across browsers, locales, languages, and form factors, and deployed production releases through Salesforce Commerce Cloud. Authored automated regression tests and co-managed continuous integration, while also winning an internal logo and naming contest for Mason, an email-building tool.

2010–2013

Computational Fluid Dynamics Technician

Flonomix

Created 3D geometries from CAD drawings and set up CFD simulations by defining boundary conditions and refining computational meshes. Analyzed simulation results for engineering reports across HVAC, indoor air quality, and fire protection projects including data centers, parking structures, atriums, retail spaces, and theaters.

Education

Graduate

MS Unmanned Systems

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Graduate study focused on the design, operation, and integration of unmanned systems, with an emphasis on human factors and human-machine interaction. Coursework addressed human capabilities and limitations, cognition and perception, ergonomics, autonomy, and the design of interfaces and systems that support safe and effective human interaction with unmanned vehicles.

Undergraduate

BS Aeronautics

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Undergraduate study in aeronautics encompassing aviation operations, flight, aircraft systems, safety, and management. The safety and management coursework provided additional emphasis on risk, organizational decision-making, and the principles used to manage complex aviation operations.

Certificate

Aviation Safety and Security

University of Southern California

Multidisciplinary professional training in aviation safety management, accident investigation, human factors, and aviation security. The program covers areas including Safety Management Systems, human performance, accident and incident investigation, threat and error management, safety performance, and safety management for remotely piloted aircraft.

Certificate

Private Pilot + Commercial Remote Pilot

Federal Aviation Administration

FAA pilot and remote-pilot credentials covering manned aircraft operations and small unmanned aircraft under Part 107. The Remote Pilot Certificate demonstrates knowledge of UAS regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely conducting drone operations, including commercial operations.
